If you want the default (You can always turn a single page's comments back on) to be No Comments then in your WP-Admin dashboard go to Settings/Discussion. Uncheck next to "Allow people to post comments on new articles"

@JesseShotland When in your Admin screen look in the upper-right for "Screen Options" Click on it and see if DISCUSSION is checked. If it is Not checked you will not see the box for Allow Comments or Allow Trackbacks. |
